  “I just do.”

He thought about it. “I’ve been in this business since getting out of the military. I wanted to work for the Capitol police, but this seemed more up my alley.”

  “What branch of the military?”

  “If I tell you…”

“Yeah, yeah, you’ll have to kill me. That’s something she’d say too. You’re predictable.”

  Damn it!

  Was he like her?

  Jesus.

  “Marines.”

“You were hurt in combat, weren’t you?” he asked. “I’d say pretty badly too.”

Ivan stared at him curiously. “Yeah, I had a run in with an IED. How did you know that?”

Chris pointed at his arm and then his leg. “You’re a leftie, but it doesn’t feel natural. I’m going to bet your arm had been hurt pretty badly. Then I saw you running around the compound. You have a scar on your leg. I’m going to postulate that you got hit in your femoral.”

  “I did.”

“And they had to cut your leg open to save it.”

  “They did.”

  “You’re lucky to be alive.”

  “I am.”

  “Are you married?”

He laughed. “No, and I never will be. I’m not the marrying type. I have to protect Elizabeth ‘I’m going to get shot’ Blackhawk,” he teased. “Chances are, she’s going to be the literal death of me.”

“Switch commissions. I’m sure you could ask for a new person to guard.”

  He could.

  Only…

  “Jesus.”

“What?” Chris said, opening his third beer, and sliding another to Ivan.

  “I actually think you’re right.”

  “What am I right about?”

“I freaking like Elizabeth Blackhawk—that pain in my ass.”

Chris laughed and clinked his bottle off Ivan’s.

“Welcome to the club. Your life will never be the same again.”

  Well, shit.

  Hotel Restaurant

  Bathroom

When Sarah got in there, Elizabeth was standing in front of the sink checking her hair. She looked so poised and like a director’s wife.

It irritated the shit out of her.

For the life of Sarah, she couldn’t figure out what Dakota saw in her. He liked boots and jeans. He favored pizza and beer. Yet, he’d had a relationship and wanted to marry this woman.

  Why?

It also irritated her that he made her call him Dakota, but this woman could use his nickname.

  What the hell?

“We need to have a little girl talk,” Elizabeth stated, finally turning around.

Sarah wanted to punch her. She was tall, thin, and pretty. She knew she’d had a brood of kids, but you couldn’t tell.

She was one of THOSE women.

  “About?”

“Why you’re shooting daggers at me because you’re crazy stupid in love with your partner?”

She opened her mouth, and then closed it.

“Good idea. Contrary to what you believe, you can’t make him like you more by being nasty to me. I’d lay off if I were you. It’s only going to make you look bad, not me.”

Yeah, she really didn’t like this.

  The woman was smart too.

  “I don’t like him.”

“You just lied. Know how I can tell?” Elizabeth asked, leaning against the counter. “You’re scowling.”

She tried to blank her face, but it clearly wasn’t working.

“What’s the deal?” Elizabeth asked. “I know you can’t be jealous of me because I’m flirting because I haven’t done that. In fact, I’ve been pretty mean to Dakota based on his dumbass actions. Are you getting bitchy because of that?”

“He’s still in love with you,” she stated.

Elizabeth laughed. “Well, that’s a train to nowhere, darlin’.” She held up her ring finger, and the dual diamonds flashed fire.

  Sarah leaned against the wall.

  “It doesn’t change the truth.”

“Listen, he and I dated. It wasn’t a long-term thing. It was a few months between our work schedules, and he was my rebound guy. I had just gotten out of a LONG relationship, and I wasn’t in the mood to settle down.”

  “He was.”

“That’s on him—not me. Listen, Miss Valley, he’s a nice guy, but Dak and I…we are not compatible. We’re both big dogs trying to piss in the same yard. We competed for everything. We used to see who ran further. We’d try to out pushup each other. Hell! We would see who could shove more baked goods into our pie holes. We competed in EVERYTHING.”

  She listened.

  “If you want my advice…?”

  “I don’t.”

“Well, you’ve got two choices. Take it, and learn from it, or let me kick your ass. I’m not going out there to sit between my two husbands as you make angry faces at me because you’re head over heels in love with your partner—which is a HORRIBLE idea to begin with.”

  “How would you know?”

“I dated a man I worked with as a partner.”

  “What happened?”

“WE got shot and he died. I didn’t. It was a bad path to be on, and I know you don’t care, but sometimes, listening to others will save you a world of pain.”

  She knew that personally.

It was a lesson that took her a long time to learn.

“Okay, since you know him so well, how do I woo him?” she asked.

“You want me to teach you how to pick up my old ex while we work a case? Are you bat shit insane to say that to me, let alone think it?”

“He’s the one. I can tell.”

  Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

“The second I met him, I knew. I know he feels the same, but he’s tied up in knots.”

  “Over this case?” she asked.

  “Yeah.”

  “And what else?”

  “My age.”

Yeah, that would bug Dakota. He had to be almost twenty years older than this woman. He’d see that as a big taboo, and even though he was partaking in the nubile fun fest, he’d hate himself because of it.

His moral code would keep nagging at him.

“Okay, that I believe. That totally sounds like him,” Elizabeth admitted.

“Help me. You got him to propose to you. How the hell did you do it?”

She laughed. “I also said no.”

  “What’s the secret?”

“I didn’t try to do anything,” Elizabeth stated. “I simply was myself. Dakota is smart. He’s a hunter by instinct. He is a killer by choice. You can’t trick him. If he feels what you are, he’ll come around.”

“I know he feels it. I can see it.”

  “When you’re naked?”

  “Yes.”

“That’s not an indicator. If you want to see how he feels, you need see it there when he’s not thinking sex.”

“Like how your husbands stare at you?”

  “Yes.”

  She could do that.

“I don’t really hate you. I’m just jealous.”

Elizabeth sighed. “When this case is over, and we catch Bonnie, I won’t likely see him again. Try then. For now, focus on the damn case. We are up against a maniac. This is a bad time to be playing a dating game.”

  “Any more advice?” she asked.

“Yeah, don’t get abducted. Bonnie would love to play with you until she kills you. Then Dak will have two partners’ blood on his hands. Don’t do that to him.”

Elizabeth headed out, knowing Sarah was right behind her. At the table, she took a seat.

“Okay, we’re done. Back to the case.”

All three men stared at Sarah. She didn’t have a scratch on her. That was…curious.

When no one spoke, she took over.

“The victim, as we said, was Cannon Austin,” Elizabeth stated. “When my ME, the dead man’s brothe
r-in-law, saw the body, he noticed something.”

“Is this the second message from Bonnie?” Dakota asked. “We discussed the letters on the refrigerator.”

“Yeah, she shoved a medallion up his nose.”

  “Really?”

She flipped through her phone to get to the picture. “Here it is,” she said, showing them.

“That’s the patron saint of Lawyers,” stated Sarah. “Saint Ives, I believe.”

Dakota stared at her. “That’s odd trivia to have in your head.”

She laughed. “Catholic school. I can give you just about every single saint there is.”

Well, that might come in handy.

Elizabeth continued, “She left it in case I didn’t get the letters on the refrigerator.”

“She’s nuts,” Callen stated, placing his hand on his wife’s leg. Slowly, he began sliding the dress up, until he had his fingers all over her soft, creamy thigh.

  She didn’t flinch.

While the people across from them couldn’t see what was going on, Ethan could.

  He saw skin.

Immediately, his heart began thumping. They were going to have some fun, and soon.

  He could feel it.

His hand went to her other thigh, and he, too, slid the dress up, until it was hiked so high, they could almost see that she was, indeed, pantiless.

Callen pushed his luck, sliding his finger further up, until he touched his most favorite part of her body.

Elizabeth opened her legs for them.

Both men stared at each other. This was like every horny guy’s wet dream.

“What can I do to help?” Dakota asked.

Elizabeth was having one hell of a time concentrating on anything Dakota was saying.

  Who could blame her?

Callen’s fingers were stroking her, and Ethan’s hand was firmly clamped to her thigh, reminding her that he, too, was enjoying the show.

“Why don’t you tell me?” she asked.

“We knew why she picked Cannon, but we have to figure out how she found him,” Dakota offered.

  She knew.

“Bonnie likely stalked him. If we figure out where she saw him, then that’s how we’ll learn her pattern,” Ethan offered.

He smiled. “That’s the biggest gift you could give me,” Dakota stated.

  Elizabeth’s legs shook.

Callen was about to give her the gift of orgasm. She needed to get them out of there, and fast.

There was no way she’d be able to keep a straight face when already, she was trying not to moan.

“You’re welcome. Now, if you don’t mind, Ethan, pay the tab. I need to get to bed.”

“Tired?” Callen teased, as his finger slid across her clit and she shook.

“Yes. I’m exhausted. The jet lag is killing me,” she said, lying her ass off.

There was a Native, trying to drive her insane. Now they wouldn’t let her close her legs.

  Elizabeth had to hold on.

Ethan waited for his credit card to come back. As soon as it did, he set Elizabeth’s leg free and signed the slip.

“You two should get to work,” Elizabeth offered, as Callen set her free. Gently, he lowered her skirt.

“We will. By morning, we’ll have something on Cannon Austin. Thank you for letting us help,” Dakota stated. “We appreciate it.”

“You’re welcome. Shall we?” she asked the men in her life. They both got up, and Callen smiled wickedly at her.

Elizabeth couldn’t think. She was too far gone. All she wanted was to get naked.

They headed out of the restaurant, and people, of course, were staring at them. They were flanking her, a hand on each of her hips, showing possession.

They stood at the elevator waiting.

“I want you both,” she whispered.

Ethan grinned. “Maybe you’ll get us.”

Callen wanted to lick his fingers to taste her on his flesh. He wanted to hold her down, bury his face between her legs, and make her scream his name.

He wasn’t play hard to get.

He was just going to play hard.

In the elevator, once the door closed, Callen shoved her and his brother against the wall, pinning Elizabeth between them.

“It’s been so long,” he muttered, pulling a moan from both of them. “I need this tonight.”

  They all did.

Callen bit her on the ear, making her gasp. His hand found Ethan’s free hair, and he balled it into a fist, stealing his breath too.

They knew how wild he was going to be.

If this was any indication, Callen was going to be out of control.

There was a Native on the warpath, and Callen Whitefox was about to do some pillaging.

  Of his wife.

  Chapter Seven

  Hotel Room

T o say he didn’t care who saw him was an understatement. Callen Whitefox was so far gone, he couldn’t help himself. Over the last few days, he’d patiently waited to partake in his wife while his brother took the needed time to reconnect.

Well, now it was his turn to have her and have her he would.

  He simply couldn’t wait anymore.

So, as the threesome exited the elevator, he had a handful of his wife’s ass. Callen couldn’t help himself. He knew Ethan had his fun, taking their wife a few times and his pent up sexual frustration was bubbling to the surface.

Once Callen let it out, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself.

Patience was a virtue, but tonight, he was going to make it count. Callen was out of control, horny, and desperately had to satiate that need. For all those weeks, he’d patiently waited for his wife to break free from that crippling depression. That one bout of sex in Delta Falls had NOT been enough. A man had needs, and his were off the chart.

Now it was time to claim what was his.

  And Ethan’s.

Once inside their hotel room, he locked the door. He didn’t speak a single word as he moved toward his wife. The predator was free, and he was going to enjoy every second of what was coming. When he reached her, he yanked Elizabeth into his body.

  “I’ve missed this,” he hissed.

  She didn’t get to speak.

Instead, his mouth devoured hers as his hands held her to his body by her ass. One on each cheek, refusing to let her free until he was ready.

Ethan began stripping out of his suit. He knew what was coming, and it was going to be explosive. Generally, when Callen was this riled up, clothes were destroyed, and he liked this suit.

Ultimately, they’d all be naked and messy.

Elizabeth was about to be manhandled by two horny Natives. It was going to be wild.

As he got ready, he tossed the jacket onto one of the chairs as he watched his spouses locked together at the mouth.

  He couldn’t wait.

  He’d miss this.

  How could he not?

When you became accustomed to sleeping, eating, and working with your partners, and then it was gone…?

  It was painful.

As Ethan removed his shirt, Callen took that as his sign and broke the kiss.

“I’ve only just begun,” he said, right before he shoved Elizabeth toward Ethan so he could begin working on his own clothes.

The overwhelming need to be naked was devouring him whole. He couldn’t fight it.

There was this frenetic energy in the room that spoke of their urgency.

Ethan caught his wife, and the first thing he did was to pull the dress from her body. He wanted her naked, ready, and unable to catch her breath.

The fun was about to begin.

“Ethan,” she whispered, when he yanked her bra off next, baring her naked body to them both. She was going to be used, taken, and enjoyed.

The Blackhawk boys were back again.

“I want you,” he muttered, as his wandering hands weren’t gentle.

  Elizabeth knew the truth.

It was going to be one hell of
a ride.

  That was for damn sure.

Callen stripped out of his boxers and dropped them to the floor. He was already hard and ready for her. The last hour of peeking down her dress, or running his fingers, secretly, over her clit had been torture.

He’d wanted to clear the table and mount her right there.

  Wild didn’t describe it.

Tonight, instead of being calm and gentle, he wanted the exact opposite. For weeks, he nursed the broken woman back to health, and here was his reward.

  He planned to take.

  Steal.

  Pillage.

Moving toward them, he spun Elizabeth around and faced her.

“You’ve had your time, and now, I’ll have mine.”

She gasped as she was shoved backward into Ethan, and they both tumbled onto the couch.

Callen dropped between his brother’s and Elizabeth’s legs and ran his fingers over his prize.

He wanted to devour her whole.

Diving in, she moaned as his mouth consumed her. He didn’t give her a second to catch her breath. He forced her up, over, and into the fall.

  It was Heaven.

When she tried to close her legs, Ethan grabbed her thighs, refusing to allow her to move. He knew what his brother had sacrificed the last seven weeks, and he was going to let him set the pace.

If he wanted wild, he was in.

  Why hold back?

Elizabeth gasped as Callen bit her clit, forcing her to feel that delicious kiss of pain.

When she fell again, the tumble was just as amazing, if not more. She loved when her husbands used and enjoyed her. There was nothing sexier than these two, sweet men behaving badly.

As she fought the haze of pleasure, she could feel herself being yanked to her feet. Elizabeth glanced down to see Callen rip open his brother’s pants.

Then he pushed her to her knees.

“Pleasure him, and then me,” he stated, taking a seat on the couch beside his brother.

  Elizabeth admired the picture.

There were two Natives, hip to hip, thigh to thigh, and they were waiting for her to put her mouth all over them.

It was as hot as Hell.

Ethan moaned as his wife pulled him free of his boxers. Then he dropped his head back when the wet warmth of her mouth swallowed him to his base.
